
Thank you for your interest in the Cypress Creek High School Orchestra!
We currently offer two different orchestras, and one level of guitar!
Orchestra 1
Beginning Orchestra (No experience required)
This program is specifically designed to take students who have never played in orchestra before (or who have taken an extended break/want to brush up on their fundamental skills) and grow them into mature, capable musicians.
This group is open to any student, grades 9 – 12 who would like to learn an orchestral string instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass)
This group typically plays 2 concerts a year.
Orchestra 2, 3, 4
Intermediate Orchestra (Prior experience required)
This group of driven individuals performs high school level literature, with historical accuracy and in a variety of styles.
This group is open to any student, grades 9 – 12 who would like to continue growing their skills as an orchestral musician.
The Intermediate Orchestra typically plays 4 concerts a year and offers students the chance to compete at the district/regional and state level competitions.
*If your student will be joining us from a prior orchestra program other than the Cypress Creek Middle School, please email Ms. Hammill (mhammill@pasco.k12.fl.us) for audition information and placement into the Cypress Creek High School Orchestra.
Guitar 1
Beginning Guitar (No experience required)
This program is specifically designed to take students who have never played guitar before (or who have taken an extended break/want to brush up on their fundamental skills) and grow them into mature, capable musicians.
This group is open to any student, grades 9 – 12 who would like to learn the fundamentals of guitar playing. (Basic chords, Rhythm, Music Reading/Writing, Ensemble Skills, and more!)
This group typically plays 2 concerts a year.
