Purpose:
The purpose of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is to recognize and reward students for their musical achievement, academic excellence, leadership, and service. The club promotes a lifelong appreciation of music while providing opportunities for members to develop leadership skills, serve their school and community through music-related activities, and support music education programs. Through performances, service projects, and outreach efforts, Tri-M members strive to make a positive impact on their school and community while fostering excellence in music.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for membership in the Tri-M Music Honor Society, students must meet the following requirements

• Music Participation
  • Be currently enrolled in a school-sponsored music class or ensemble.
  • Participate in the music program for at least one semester during the current school year.
  • Maintain regular attendance and active participation in rehearsals and performances.
• Academic Achievement
  • Earn a minimum 90% (A average) in music classes.
  • Earn a minimum 80% (B average) in all other academic courses.
• Service
  • Complete at least 20 hours of documented service during the school year.
  • Submit an Advisor-approved service project proposal by the end of Semester 1.
  • Complete the service project by the end of Semester 2.
  • Failure to complete the required service hours and project may result in loss of eligibility or membership.
• Character
  • Candidates must demonstrate outstanding character and serve as positive representatives of both the music program and Cypress Creek High School. Students should embody the school’s HOWL values by:
  • Having a Growth Mindset by embracing challenges, learning from feedback, and striving for continuous improvement.
  • Owning Their Education by being responsible, prepared, and committed to academic and musical excellence.

Purpose:
Movie club is a student-led club where students watch and discuss films while developing media literacy and critical-thinking skills. This also gives students a place to connect with others who have similar interests to create a welcoming environment.
