What Is the School Advisory Council?
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a collaborative team of parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community members working together to support continuous school improvement. The council plays an essential role in helping shape the vision and direction of our school by providing input on policies, academic priorities, and resource allocation.
When families and communities partner with schools, students succeed. The SAC ensures that decisions reflect the needs and priorities of those we serve—our students. Your insights, ideas, and involvement make a meaningful difference.
The primary purpose of the SAC is to:
- Support the development and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan (SIP)
- Provide input on school goals, strategies, and academic performance
- Review school data to identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth
- Foster open communication between families, staff, and school leadership
- Encourage community involvement and shared decision-making
Throughout the school year, the SAC meets regularly to:
- Analyze student achievement data and progress
- Discuss instructional programs and initiatives
- Review school safety, climate, and culture
- Allocate certain school improvement funds (when applicable)
- Provide recommendations to the principal on key decisions
Our goal is to ensure every student has access to a high-quality educational experience.
The SAC is made up of a diverse group of stakeholders, including:
- Parents and guardians
- Teachers and school staff
- Students (at secondary schools)
- Community and business representatives
- School administration
We encourage all members of our school community to get involved—your voice matters!
